This season after the spring festival, half of the villagers including students and children shift to the summer houses near their field. They do work mostly outside.
So our Kiran Library in my house is usually closed in this season. However, I feel pity not using the large TV screen in the Library which Shahnaz kindly donated for the children’s education and I brought all the way from Fauzia’s house by road in April.
Watching rubbish, most are plastic wastes from the junk snack, thrown by the children by the roadside in the village, a bright idea occurred to me that is to ask the children to pick the rubbish before showing the video in the Library.
It works good indeed. The first day the children collected wastes into a big trash box and took to the riverbank to burn for 8 times. Afterwords the village looked so clean. Unfortunately it became quickly dirty again with new rubbish, so I asked to do again to the children 5 days after.
Now it looks slightly less rubbish on the roadside. Children still eat junk snacks but some of them don’t throw the plastic wastes but keep in their pockets or belts. A little progress, better than nothing. Step by step.
